Message Of The President
After accumulating knowledge for millions of years, humanity reached the Information Age. As humans advance in the road of exploring where they come from and where they are destined to go, their individual creativity breaks down the borders and unstoppable progress has begun.

With the rapid advancement of the electronic sector and its implementation in our daily lives, progress that goes beyond our imagination has been and is continuing to be achieved.

Technological products are much cheaper. They are not considered luxury products anymore. Virtual media can be used by everybody. Communication tools have increased incredibly.

Thanks to these advancements, millions of creative people who now have tools to display their individual talents with their intelligence started to be productive in all areas.

We can already feel that the 21st century will witness a cyber age. Thanks to the progress obtained in communication technology and the diffusion of communication opportunities to the masses, the world is rapidly advancing towards a global order where everybody uses a common language, experiences a common culture and national borders are broken down.

Even today it is possible to reach information sources all over the world and process them quickly, just using a computer. The new generation who grows up using these means is being called the "Global Generation", alluding to their new values.

Information is being shared also through large communication networks implemented in the world. Turkey has been one of the leaders in this area, so much so that we are one of the top three countries where Facebook is most used.

Models have been enriched by 3G technology and by the diffusion of smart phones.

Research shows that in 2020 there will be 20 billion devices linked to the internet. Compared to the world’s population, this number is incredibly high.

This progress, the signals of which we can see today, means that in the next century the existing values will be shaken and will undergo a significant change.

I think the next generations will be very lucky in terms of technology, but will live in an unlucky environment in terms of family and interpersonal relationships.

Despite this dizzying speed, two meetings held in Istanbul within the last month gave us hope regarding the future. We talked about their Ideal Futures with young people from Batman. Extremely intelligent and successful students are going to continue their education with hope and confidence.

On the other hand, the Turkish Olympics gave us the opportunity to meet students from 120 countries who speak our language as well as we do. I would like to congratulate each of them and invite them to visit Turkey as often as they can.
