Genpa wins 19 medals in Eurasian Corporate Games 2007
Genpa has participated in the 5th Eurasian Corporate Games 2007 and won 19 medals in all in 10 branches
This year’s Eurasian Corporate Games 2007 hosted exciting competitions again with the participation of 121 companies including Borusan Otomotiv, Boyner, Doğuş Grubu, Global Bilgi, Unilever a.o. Genpa competed with 70 people in 10 branches against approx. 3760 people and won 19 medals.
Teams competing in the Eurasian Corporate Games 2007 engaged in intense preparations lasting about a month in the branches basketball, bowling, mountain bike, dragon boat, football, carting, running, ping pong, tennis and swimming.
Games were open not only to the staff of the main office but all Genpa employees and were participated by 70 Genpa employed by Ankara and Izmir district technical service suppliers and the Bayrampaşa Warehouse. Employees successfully represented their company both in team play and individual contests.
Competitions starting with the “Big March” organized on Friday evening, May 25, 2007 at Istiklal Caddesi with the participation of all company staff culminating in major contests held on May 26-27. Qualifications took place on 26th May and semi-finals and finals on 27th May.
Medal winners
The Genpa team finished the games in which it is a first time participant with 19 medals thanks to the dedicated and ambitious efforts of the contesters. Genpa team contenders and rankings are listed as follows: 5.000 meter run ladies category Aylin Fırat third, the dragon boat team consisting of Fulya Suzhun, Mustafa El-Aliwat, Belgin Uysal, Derya Çakmak, Ercan Şenlik, Emek Eraslan, Emre Kaymaz, Ender Kızılkan, Ender Özdemir, Mehmet Şahinler, Merve Turuş, Sertaç Güngördü, Sevda Yurt, Sevil Alpay, Vedat Kesici, Vedat Tolan, Volkan Düştegör and Yiğit Yelkenci third among 19 teams, swimming Onur Alsulu fourth, mountain bike Eray Köşker fifth, Bayram Atik sixth, Ediz Özatik seventh and the basketball team consisting of Cem Çalışkan, Emir Gülenç, Gediz Perçinel, Gökhan Şengelir ve Tolga Güner fifth among 60 teams.
The main objective in Genpa’s participation in the games was the enhancement of inter-staff communications. We would like to extend our congratulations once again through “Erdem Future” to the Genpa personnel who are a large family and created excellent teams despite rarely getting the opportunity to see each other during their hectic work days and put their stamp on big successes in games in which they participated for the first time by managing to take off for merely two short days to achieve great synergy
